Special features in Chrome Dino

Apart from the obstacles, Google Dinosaur Game also has a couple of features. These features are not obstacles, but they add fun to the game. 

Following are the special features of Chrome Dino. 

Birthday cake

Celebrating Google Chrome's 10th and the Chrome Dino's 4th birthday in 2018, the developers added a couple of upgrades, including a birthday cake, a birthday hat and balloons.

These additions are not obstacles, per se. However, they add a lot of fun to the game. If you have an updated browser, a birthday cake appears randomly in the desert during the game. Whenever the Lonely T-Rex eats the cake, a birthday hat appears on the head of the dino. 

If you're wondering what this cake in the Dinosaur Game is about, it is a special cake for the Lonely T-Rex. According to the developers, one of the guys who worked on the game is an amateur baker. And he decided on a classic vanilla cake for the T-Rex. Since the vanilla cake is a classic, it was decided that the birthday cake is fitting for the birthday. 

In addition, the classic vanilla cake was also a winner over other flavors since the dino will be eating it a million times over several million years. The developers were of the opinion that the cake should be tasty, especially since the dino will be eating for a long time. 

The balloons are also a special addition to the birthday celebrations, and they keep appearing in the landscape. 

Easter egg

Similar to the birthday cake, the Easter egg in the Chrome Dino is also not a strict obstacle. This special feature was to commemorate the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and the widget was added in 2021. 

With this special widget, the Chrome Dino morphs into different types of games that are popular in the Olympics. To play the Dinosaur Game with this widget, you need to update your Chrome browser to the latest version and have access to iOS mobile. 

Go to the browser with the iOS device and type

chrome://dino

and hit enter. To start the game, tap the dino. As it starts running, you will come across an Olympic torch before the obstacles. 

When the dino reaches the torch, it will morph into games such as swimming, running, and many others. Instead of the usual obstacles of cactus and the pterodactyls, the dino will encounter the obstacles related to the Olympics. The summer Olympics typically celebrates 33 games, so your dino has a lot of options to choose from.  

Resetting the game also changes the type of sport the dino will participate. This is a fantastic way to play the Google Dinosaur Game in a refreshing way. Along with the new obstacles, the graphics of the game also changes, making the dino a lot more fun. 

However, the Olympic widget for the Chrome Dino is available on iOS 14, so make sure that your device has the right operating system.
